| General Information Flights - Malindi airport is serviced by Kenya Airways direct from Nairobi. Journey time to Woburn Residence Club is approximately 10 minutes from airport. Flights to Mombasa are also available. Taxi transfers can be arranged to Woburn. Car Hire - Car hire & Safaris is available with Platinum Car Hire & Tours ( www.platinumsafaris.com ) and if you wish, a driver can be hired. Taxis - available locally Office Hours - The reception is open from 08.00 hrs until 20.00 hrs seven days a week including public holidays. Security/night reception is on duty from 2000 hrs. Check In - Mon to Sun 14.00 hrs Check Out - no later than 10.00 hrs. Key Collection - from reception (24 hour service, Security/Night reception available out of office hours). Breakfast - daily at the restaurant. Only for those staying in the rooms/suites. Foodpacks - complimentary coffee, tea and creamer are provided on arrival for those staying in the apartments only. A more substantial foodpack can be arranged. Please pre-book and pay locally on arrival. Contents: tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bread, butter, jam or marmalade, eggs, ham, cheese, juice, wine & water. Cleaner Service - daily with a towel change when required. Household refuse is also collected by the 'housemen'. Cook - you may hire the services of a cook. Laundry - there is a laundry service available through reception, costs of which are available on request and are payable either to reception or charged directly on the bill. For hand washing there is a washing line and a folding stand in each apartment. Towels - Please do not take the towels from your apartment/room to the pool. Towels are available for the swimming pool area (please do not take Woburn towels to the beach). Maintenance - Please report any maintenance requests via reception. T.V. - Available free of charge. They are not kept in the properties so if you would like one, please ask on arrival. Safety Boxes - There is a safe in each property. Locks will be charged for as a lost key will require the whole safe lock to be changed. Telephones - Please note that by International standards the cost of calls is very expensive Health and Inoculation requirements - it is essential that you contact your GP for the latest information. It is recommended that the prophylaxis be started against malaria one week before commencement of holiday and continue for 4 weeks after returning. In addition to this it is advisable to use repellents and sprays or a coil, available locally. The mosquito machines that plug into the wall are not effective here. First Aid - There is a private hospital nearby and there is also a doctor that will visit the site if requested. Details from the reception. Other Hospitals are in Mombasa (120km) and Nairobi. A chemist can be found in town at the nearby shopping centre. Safety - All guests will be briefed on all aspects of safety by the Management on their arrival. Although incidents of crime in Kenya seem to attract a disproportionate amount of space in the international press, the over-whelming impression formed by most visitors to the country is of endless civility of the local people. However, use your common sense and be vigilant at all times and take heed of local warnings and advice. Depositing valuables in the safe in your apartment/room is recommended as is taking a taxi to and from your accommodation after dark. Banks - Banks of International repute are available - Open 9.00 - 3.30 Mon to Fri. 9.00 - 11.00 Sat. Money can be exchanged at reception. Postal Service - Available at reception Stamps can also be purchased. Electricity - 240V AC. Religious information - Anglican, Catholic & Muslims. Water - Water on site is not suitable for drinking. However, please note that all drainage at the Residence is on water treatment plant and/or septic tank. So please refrain from flushing any foreign objects down the WC's sinks or basins. Tipping - The service charge and local tax includes tips for the "unseen" staff ie. Security. Laundry, gardeners, pool maintenance, office staff etc. tipping is entirely your discretion.
