Kenya

The romance of Kenya never fails to capture the imagination of its
visitors; snow capped peaks give way to verdant rainforests and rolling
savannah grasslands which are home to great concentrations of large
mammals - elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard and cheetah to name
but a few.
Add flamingo covered
Lakes, the spectacular Rift Valley and the clear blue seas of the Indian
Ocean and you will discover a variety of habitats and scenery unrivalled
on the African continent. Covering an area the size of France (almost
583,000 square miles) it stretches from 5 degrees north to 5 degrees
south of the equator on the eastern coast of Africa. Its fascinating
cultural heritage derives from all over Africa, the Middle East, Asia
and Europe and you will be greeted with great warmth by the local
Swahili people.

For the more imaginative
traveller, Kenya is a beautiful land of contrasts and if you want to
combine a stay at the coast with a safari to see the amazing wildlife of
East Africa, there are few better places. The East African region is a
monsoon type of climate with warm summers and temperate winters.
The winter months are December to February - the long rains usually fall
from April to June. The short rains are between October and the
beginning of November, although it can still be a good time to travel.
From December to April the Northeast Trade Winds sweep the beaches clear
with an offshore current and the water is clean for diving and
snorkeling. From May to November the Southeast Trade Winds can bring
seaweed and debris to the beach, especially in the early months of May
to July.
The charming Woburn Residence Club lies at the northern end of Malindi,
within easy reach of the golf club and a 10-15 minute walk (2-3 minutes
drive) takes you into the centre of Malindi with all its facilities.
Malindi airport is a 5 minute drive away and Mombasa lies approximately
130 km to the south.

The development is situated in 5 acres of beautifully landscaped
tropical gardens with a stunning 3 tier swimming pool and consists of
clusters of apartments and executive suites (suites and rooms can only
be booked on a bed and breakfast basis). The nearest beach is an
approximate 10 minute walk away. Car hire can be expensive but a car
with driver can be hired and taxis are easily arranged at affordable
prices. A cook is available at a reasonable cost.
Woburn Residence Club is an ideal holiday home for short term stays and
bookings for this are taken on a nightly basis.
For longer term guests rates are available for long leases and the
apartments are available for those wishing to purchase a second holiday
home or make an excellent investment.

Either way, you can easily combine a stay at the coast with a safari to
see the amazing wildlife of East Africa. Our reception staff can help
with advice on safaris, the nearest game reserve is Tsavo National Park.
Africa is an incredible continent and if you travel with patience,
tolerance and realistic expectations, you cannot help but have a
memorable holiday.
